nEW yORK

After our wedding, we went to spend a couple night at the Grand America in Salt Lake. (I heart that hotel!) We just did some shopping, drove around, saw a movie and just tried to spend some time together before we went home. A week and a half later we went to New York. We stayed for a week and it was an interesting experience. We both had been there before and enjoyed it. This time, I was pregnant and lets just say it doesn't smell very nice. LOL. But we had a lot of fun, went a lot of places, WALKED A LOT, and just enjoyed New York in the summer time. Josh is all about "exploring" and just walking around, and I just liked to try the pizza's everywhere. It was super fun and here are a couple pictures from our second honeymoon I guess? hahaha.

Josh found a big piece of poo in the middle of a art museum :)

Here he tried to take a picture with the big man, but some person got in the way.
And then there's me with the random sculpture.

Josh met superman!

I met oprah :)

Random sculpture I told him to pose with....

Ugh, I was so annooyed cuz i told him to go pose with the guy but NO he wanted to walk IN BACK. boo.

The beautiful temple in the middle of New York :) In the middle of the chaos is the house of the Lord.

Another view :)

We couldn't go in the visitors center cuz it was being worked on :(

So pretty the view from the highest building ever!

Just us :)

July 28, 2008

Josh and I were married July 28, 2008. We were married by my bishop at the time, Darren Harris, at my chapel in American Fork. Our parents and grandmothers were present, and got to witness Joshua and I tie the knot. Our reception was held in his backyard in Highland, UT. It was supposed to start at like 3 or 4, I don't remember, but thanks to me, it began like 2 hours late. My girls were, Jerica Elu (Na'eole now), Laura Rosales (married nme Im not sure of now), Finau Nau (who came late and didn't walk with us), Hannah Schaap, Veronica Rosales, Lupe Si'i Mounga, Narisha Manu (Tonga now), and my maid of honor was my beautiful sister Melena'a Latu. Joshua's boys were Uwe Curley, Guillermo Garcia, Aaron Perez, Jacob Perez, Greg Perez, Thorton Garcia, and his best man was Jonathon Garcia. I will have to say, I think we had the best food ever :) My uncles are amazing chefs and lets just say our food was GONE before we were done. Our cake was done by Harmons. (I worked there, so I figured they could do it for me. Plus I really liked their non-dairy whipped frosting :))We had a lot of dances by my aunts, (hence the reason our wedding was 5 years long. I have no idea how the Bretons stayed the WHOLE time). I'm very very very very VERY GREATFUL to all those who helped out, especially my family and Johsua's family. It was an amazing eventful day and one I will remember :) [I only have a few pictures from Joshua's camera who I have no idea who was taking pictures, but this is all I have]

The dating scene.

Here are some random pictures from our dating stage. It starts with pictures from Josh's dad's wedding, then to some ROC and finishes off with a Legacy performance.

The Beginning...

So here's MY SIDE of the story:
Josh and I met at the Multicultural Center, (MC), at UVU in the middle of January. He worked there and I practically lived there so I saw him a lot. I remember walking around with Vai and Vita and all those other guys, and this mico would walk with us and talk to them. I didn't particularly like micos so I found it a little odd. I noticed he dressed differently from everyone else. Low v-neck, button up collared shirts, strange jewelry, he was... different. I also noticed that every time I looked at him and he looked back, a HUGE grin would spread across his face. You know that, "OMG she's looking at me" look? (NO, I'm not conceded, I just know these things!) So I decided I'd talk to him. Randomly one day, I went up to him and asked him what his name was? I was expecting something like Jose, or Eduardo, or something like that. Josh. His name was JOSH, a white boys name. Hm... weird. I then told him I was Lala and that if I forgot his name I was apologizing for it early. He replied with, "if you forget my name, I won't talk to you ever again." W.T.H. I had no idea how to answer that. Who the hell does this guy think he is?? But I left it there and decided Josh wasn't exactly the kind of guy I really wanted to know. Later that day, I was waiting out front for my mom to pick me up and low and behold, Josh walks past. I say hi to him and he comes and sits next to me. We talk about random things and what I find interesting is how he's so open to talk to me. We talk about ADD and the tests you have to take and all this other stuff. I was curious about him with his ADD because apparently everyone thought I was. I gave him my number and we parted ways. We began texting, then hanging out and by the end of February we were dating. (And I was pregnant.) And so begins my life with Joshua William Garcia :)

July 3rd/4th

On the 3rd and 4th of July we wanted to show Gabriel some fireworks. We got some sparklers and small fire works to show him. He was in awe at first, but then after a few he got really scared and I think he wanted to cry. I couldn't figure out how to do the picture with the fireworks and baby, so here's my useless attempts. Joshua with baby after watching little fireworks. Poor thing still looks scared. Sorry baby!
Watching the fireworks all scared!
After he was spooked and started squirming for daddy.

First Post!

Gabriel's seven months and he's such a massive child. I've just started working again and I like to take him in with me. A lot of my coworkers find it hard to believe that I, Heilala, a 19 year old college student gave birth to a seven month old who looks like he's a year and a half. As small as Josh and I are, our baby is sure Tongan :) Here's a couple of pictures we just took.
